**disclaimer: The information in this newsletter is in no way a complete list of activities in the Austin/GWNN area. For comprehensive information please visit the web pages of various groups, attend munches, or ask your friends. We have made every effort to include as much up to date information as possible. GWNN wholeheartedly supports all local and area groups and hopes every person who sets out to find a comfortable place to be who they are, learn, grow and find friends is successful in their journey.

Opinions and ideas expressed by individuals in interviews are their own and the Newsletter allows and encourages their free expression. The newsletter volunteers make every effort to double check the information here, but it is not impossible that we may miss something. If you note an error or mis-information, please let us know so we can correct it.

GWNN Newsletter welcomes all information from area groups about their gatherings and special events. While it would be very time and space consuming to detail every single group every month, we will gladly list your special events and parties and include web pages and links so that interested persons can find out more.

If you are reading this on the web and would like to get it in your own email Press Here. We have had many “bouncing” emails from people we know are active members. Perhaps a move or a change of internet providers has meant a change of email address. If you think this might be why you are not receiving GWNN emails and special announcements please re-subscribe by Pressing Here.

***** GWNN MUNCH *****

SATURDAY, April 10

7:00 – 9:00 p.m.

~~~ Get your boner on ~~~
Come eat delicious ribs - what were you thinking?
Artz Rib House
2330 S Lamar Blvd Austin, TX 78704-4727
(512) 442-8283
www.artzribhouse.com
Munches are open to anyone – over the age of 18 – who has an interest in learning more about the kinky side of Austin and Central Texas. You can meet lots of other fun and interesting folks and get the 411 on all sorts of groups and events. Please remember – don’t scare the vanillas – family friendly clothing please.
We meet in the back room, which does have it’s own entrance with a ramp. Place your food orders at the bar and a server will bring your food in to you. Please remember to tip!
Artz is centrally located on South Lamar, about 2 miles south of Lady Bird Lake (Town Lake). Street clothes are the appropriate attire for this event. If the front parking lot looks full, go around the back.
Don’t forget that party tickets for May can be purchased in advance at the munch for the reduced rate of only $ 15.00.
Other things to think about
When making your plans to attend a GWNN party, please don’t forget about the need for volunteers. GWNN can always use folks willing to DM – it’s the ultimate in voyeurism … wander around looking official with a glowy arm band or a stylish orange vest. Each hour shift is compensated by $5 off your ticket. Not to mention the exalted status among your peers.
Contact Randwulf at Randwulf@hotmail.com for info.
In all seriousness we need more DM’s that know the job, and know what to look for. DM classes being held soon for those interested.
Help keep everyone safe and happy.
You can also volunteer to help construct/destruct the party space, be a greeter at the door or spend some time making sure things are OK in the parking lot.
Come to the munch and talk to Randwulf about the various jobs.
Notes from the Board
From the desk of Bob – Bydarra, Board Member – Outreach Programs
Greetings to the membership. I am just entering my 5th month on the board and am very hopeful. We have brought back some old customs and are initiating some new ones as well.
My work on the board focuses on party preparation and outreach to other groups. So far, I’ve been visiting with SAADE’s leadership which resulted in the very successful joint venture to bring Travis Wilson to Austin last month. Participants got to hear many of Travis’ humorous stories, while learning about whips, knives, and mind**uc** with credit cards.
I’ve also visited EROS in Houston and will be attending functions with Touch of Leather (in Killeen) and other groups in Austin as I try to get other groups to team with GWNN to bring presenters to town for demos prior to the play parties. I’m hoping to get other groups to participate in putting on the Bash so it becomes a community event rather than a GWNN event. The board would appreciate your feedback, ideas and support.
Come to a board meeting and let us know how we’re doing. The board meets in the same location as the munch on the same day, at 5:00 p.m.
COMMUNITY EVENTS in APRIL and more
Service in a D/s Relationship
1 Day Seminar presented by Central Texas Couples
Now in it’s 12th year, Central Texas Couples is a special interest group for couples (and poly) who maintain any type of TPE - D/s – M/s – bdsm relationship. Couples may be of any sexual orientation and any “D/s” type relationship. The main criterion is that the primary couple lives in the same household.
On April 17th CTC will host an all day seminar focused on service in a “24/7” relationship. The seminar is open to all community members, regardless of relationship status and will be held at the Holiday Inn NW Arboretum from 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM. Speakers and topics will include:
  • Opal and slave namaste “A View >From The Bottom” What service means to the submissive
  • Sea – The Psychology of Service Submissives
  • Dr. Robert Ruebel – Protocols, Making Your Relationship Special
  • Master Obsidian and slave namaste – 2010 International Master-slave winners.
The seminar will end with a panel discussion that will include questions and comments from seminar participants.
CTC is not charging a fee for this event, but will accept “donations” to help cover expenses and will be giving 25% of any donations to Master Obsidian and ~namaste for their travel fund.
17 Hours of Fun
On April 17 SAADE Celebrates Randwulf’s Birthday
On Saturday, April 17th, in honor of Randwulf's birthday, we are going to have an all day gathering at The Place.
We will open up at 10 am and stay open for 17 hours! You will be able to buy a ticket starting at the March SAADE Meeting on March 12th. After that at the March Social, April SAADE Meeting, Monday Pool Nights and RACKIT Club Happy Hours (watch for listings about where to get one at the last minute).
You have all sorts of options. You can stay all day until the wee hours or come and go numerous times. You will be responsible for your own food during the day. Remember that the evening is a regular party party with POTLUCK as usual (you must plan for that also). SAADE will only provide drinks and paper goods. We have some outdoor chairs, but just in case, you might want to bring your own.
IMPORTANT: Play areas will be open all day, however there will be no DMs on duty until 9 pm. There will be a "go-to" person available at all times during the 17 hrs in case of emergencies.
And if enough people attend, maybe we can "talk" Randwulf into taking his own birthday spankings!
Upcoming Fundraiser for Master Obsidian and slave namaste
Master Obsidian and namaste recently won the Leather Title of International Master and slave2010 at South Plains. This position requires a great deal of traveling and speaking at various events, at their own expense. They are not allowed to acpet any sort of payment for speaking, but they may accept donations to their travel fund. There will be a fundraiser in June to raise funds to help defray some of their traveling costs. (More details on the fundraiser to follow – but go ahead and mark your calendar for Friday June 18th – because it will be an event you won't want to miss!)
There will be a raffle and all sorts of donations are needed. We would love to gather toys from local crafters, as well as donations of unused or very gently used and clean toys; good bottles of wine, cheese and chocolate; new boot blacking and foot pampering items; perhaps things appropriate for pony/puppy/kitty play baskets or age play basket. Of course if you would like to donate cash to be spent on other items, that is always good as well. Check lists for more information and contact.
For more information on all local and area community events be sure and check the Yahoo and FetLife groups.
Thank you for your support!
