Did you have a great time at BASH XIX? Would you like to part of making BASH XX -2013 even bigger and better? There are currently a few Committee Coordinator seats open. You will need to attend some meetings, but not every committee member has to be at every meeting. We try to divide up who absolutely has to be there to optimize our work time while not making everyone drive and sit through every meeting.

Volunteer Coordinator

Volunteer Coordinator does not really start work until Feb -March, but the closer the BASH gets, the more work is needed. The Volunteer Coordinator needs to get information from all the other committee members about how many people they need, what they need done, allotments of time and so on. The the VC seeks people to fill those spots. We use Fet groups and yahoo groups and munches to ask for volunteers.

The VC takes the information on what is needed and tries to match volunteers to a job they will like or be good at. This year we are offering each volunteer the chance to get FREE BASH party tickets, and/or FREE regular party tickets. On BASH weekend the VC has to have their master list of all volunteers, when and where they need to go, who they are working with. The VC needs to have whatever information each volunteer needs in writing. The VC will need an assistant, as it's just not possible for 1 person to do it all. This job is not difficult, but does need someone very focused and detail oriented.

Committee members are encouraged to attend ALL committee meetings, so they know what's going on and can voice their ideas and opinions. The VC really does need to attend ALL meetings after January 2013. The committee meets from 3 -5 at PokE Joes on munch Saturdays. In the last 3-4 weeks before the BASH, we meet more frequently. The committee is responsible for cleaning up the SRL before the bash - and we try to get a few volunteers to help. Many /most committee members take that Friday off work because it is hectic and we have lots to do to be set up and ready. Then we all work ourselves silly for 3 days but have fun doing it.

Both myself and last year's VC are available to help this year's person get started and organized. Our volunteers are really the backbone of the BASH and we couldn't do it without them. The VC may be the only committee member that some of the volunteers work with, so it's important that the VC is able to smile and thank everyone even if things are falling apart.

We have an outstanding committee and building on BASH XIX, we plan to have an outstanding event!
